My Komodo diving cruise aboard the Pinta Liveaboard was an incredible experience. This traditional wooden phinisi, built in 2021, is 30 meters long and 6 meters wide, with a GT83 superstructure that really stands out. I had heard that the best time for seeing mantas in Komodo is during the rainy season, between December and February, and the visibility during our December trip certainly confirmed this, often exceeding 30 meters. It’s worth noting the National Park fee is 300,000 Rupiah per day for each day you dive on a liveaboard in Komodo, an important detail to factor into your planning.
